Abstract

Ten years from now, will we think of alternative energy as clean and green? New findings on the side effects and limitations of solar cells, wind turbines, and electric cars will likely transform conventional wisdom about what’s green, and what’s not. Which players will be left in the dust? Who will innovate the next green revolution? And how? In this talk, Zehner presents a case study of the limitations and environmental impacts of solar cells to illustrate some of the broader challenges facing contemporary environmentalism.
